We house the natural science, earth science and ethnology collections of the city of Winterthur. There are over 125,000 objects in the three collection departments. We are, so to speak, a memory of Winterthur!
In our permanent exhibition you will find the local habitats with their animals and plants, minerals and rocks, models of our mountains, stories from the history of the earth (fish dinosaurs, local Tertiary fossils) and ethnological objects on the clipper "Ida Ziegler". In the Kerala Children's Museum, nature becomes tangible for the youngest! Listen to stories, create with natural materials, creep into the badger's den as a badger....and..and. In the nature discovery office you can compare your own finds from nature with our collection and have them identified. Holiday programmes, lectures, guided tours, performances and concerts for young and old take place on a regular basis.
