Contemporary accounts from Seide – A glimpse into the textile archives
The textile industry has played a pivotal role in Swiss history. In the 20th century, the fashion converter Abraham occupied a key position in the textile sector, supplying the international haute couture industry with the latest fabric creations from Switzerland. Abraham, as well as the major Zurich silk weaving mills, have documented their production in extensive company archives. Original sample books, fabric swatches, collection books and rolls of fabric form part of these archives. A selection of these is available for visitors to view during the guided tour.
