More women in the creative arts on Wikipedia!

Many female artists, architects, designers, photographers and other women* working in the creative industries do not yet have a Wikipedia article. There are also fewer women actively contributing to the site. We want to change that – together with you. Anyone can write, expand or improve articles on Wikipedia. You too!

To make it easier to get started in the Wikipedia universe and to support you in continuing to contribute, Sabine Hagmann, Andrea Helbling, Chris Regn and Nicole Boillat, with the support of Wikimedia CH, are organising monthly writing workshops. During these evenings, new articles are created, translated and existing entries expanded. The aim is to increase the presence of women on Wikipedia – both as editors and as subjects of the articles.

Participants in the writing workshop are supported by an experienced Wikipedia user. Beginners are just as welcome as experienced writers.

Create a user account in advance, bring a laptop and a suggested article, or let the existing list. You can find all the information about this format in this Wikipedia entry.
