Tribade
Tribade from Barcelona got off to a flying start in 2019 with their debut album Las Desheredadas. Their goal: nothing less than the whole world. Of course. MCs Masiva Lulla and Bittah, currently on tour with DJ Mark, immediately played at renowned festivals such as TransMusicales in France, Eurosonics in the Netherlands and SXSW in Texas. No stage seems too big for the trio, no sound system too powerful. They write about themselves: "Tribade is real hip hop, from the streets and willing to be heard everywhere," which is exactly what is happening. With songs that have been played over a million times and range from Mexico to India to New Zealand, it's safe to say that Tribade is being heard everywhere. This also means that everywhere, anti-capitalist lyrics are being heard alongside criticism of heteropatriarchy. And queer feminism meets flamenco, Afrotrap and reggaeton. An absolutely explosive mixture that weaves itself into today's rap scene and at the same time unravels it, away from the dude and towards the dyke – as Tribade's second album is called. So let's go, vertical take-off, world, Rote Fabrik.
