A Long Story About Our Baby
"A Long Story About Our Baby" is a performance about queer family fantasies. Two performers embark on a mission to have a baby. They move through their thoughts, speak through their bodies and tell of a love story that stretches out towards a baby - empathetic, caring, rough and gentle. They embody and deconstruct family representations to find one that feels like theirs. Eevi, Olivia and the desire for a baby fall in love, fall out of love and fall in love again as they navigate utopias, biological obstacles, political uncertainties and societal expectations. "A Long Story About Our Baby" is an auto-fictional dance piece and a physically poetic narrative. It opens a space for dreaming and re-romanticising a queer experience of family.Content note: The piece involves stage fog, theatrical blood, nudity and flashing lights. Some scenes may evoke associations with miscarriage, which may be uncomfortable for some audience members. The performance is in English, a German translation is available in written form.www.landholzproductions.comwww.eevikinnunen.squarespace.com
