Night-time fairy tales for adults – The Magic Organ

Zurich Fairy Tale Theatre

King Adalbert the Last is feeling absolutely rotten. Is it the nationwide ‘No Kings’ protests that are getting him down so much? Is it the fear that new atrocities concerning his brother will come to light in the ‘Epstein files’? Or is it merely a simple man’s flu that has confined the king to his oversized bed? In any case, he wants to get out of it as soon as possible and promises his entire fortune to whoever cures him. When the poor tinker Fridolin hears of this, he remembers the magic organ he once invented, designed to make everyone joyful and happy with its music. Now, of course, he could use it to cure the king and become a rich man. But he could also use his magic organ to compose the next Swiss entry for the Eurovision Song Contest and become famous all over the world. Or he might keep his hands off the magic organ, for by promising to make everyone happy and content, the blameless tinker would be breaking the Narcotics Act.

The building at Hechtplatz 7 will undergo renovation from January 2026. During this time, we will be presenting our programme at Haus Seefeld (Seefeldstrasse 91, 8008 Zurich).
