Aly Keïta, Jan Galega, Brönnimann, Lucas Niggli
Good morning
Aly Keïta is one of the great virtuosos of the balafon, the West African xylophone. The Ivorian musician has won countless awards (including the German Jazz Prize) and adapts the balafon to a wide variety of musical styles when performing with artists such as Joe Zawinul, Omar Sosa and Jan Garbarek. Together with the Swiss clarinettist Jan Galega Brönnimann and the Swiss drummer Lucas Niggli – both of whom were born in Cameroon – Keïta blends the traditional African repertoire with jazz and African rhythms. African jazz trance at its best.
