What is that Thing called Swing?
Menno Daams, the gifted trumpeter from Amsterdam, possesses a remarkable stylistic range; his delicately modulated tone, his inventiveness and the elegance of the lines in his playing are reminiscent of the great trumpeters of the Swing era, particularly the legendary Buck Clayton. Saxophonist Luca Stoll is also part of the line-up. The two frontmen are backed by a trio that provides the perfect grooving backdrop: guitarist Roberto Bossard is a soloist and accompanist renowned far beyond the Swiss border. The same applies to the swinging drummer Elmar Frey and bassist Georgos Antoniou.
