What is Cirque Intense?
Fancy an intense year of artistry, art and movement? Even interested in making circus your profession in whatever form?
With Cirque Intense, Zirkus-Kunst nonprofit Ltd. offers full-time training as well as advanced and further training at circus practice weekends. For anyone who wants to work in a concentrated way on technical craft, physical training, choreography and stage skills.
Content and goals
The workshop is a trial training and offers the opportunity to experience Cirque Intense up close. You will learn what a training day at Cirque Intense feels like. We practice acrobatics (with jumps, handstands, partner work), juggling (balls, clubs) and balancing (ball, rola bola, ladder, unicycle). This is followed in the afternoon by theater/dance and a phase of specialization, means "working on your own act". If participants have a circus act that they want to polish or revise/develop, we can tackle that.
Schedule
Sat 12-15 / Sun 10-13 h Training floor acrobatics, juggling and balance
Sat 15-16 / Sun 13-14 h Lunch break (During the breaks, each participant provides his or her own meals.)
Sat 16-19 / Sun 14-17 h Artistic training (theater, dance, number work).
You will need:
comfortable training clothes and sensible slippers/shoes (no socks, no sneakers with hard soles).
You are welcome to bring your own circus equipment.

Trained at the Scuola Dimitri, he first worked on stage as an artist and movement performer in the Compagnia Dimitri, Theater Belenus, Junges Theater Basel, among others. In addition to directing (theater, circus, opera) and his own artistic-clownesque solo program, his main focus today is on his work as a circus trainer. For several years he has been educated as a trainer in several circus disciplines by Szilard Szekely (long-time teacher of acrobatics at the Scuola Dimitri). In 2018, the foundation of Zirkus-Kunst nonprofit Ltd. took place, which since September 2018 offers a full-time training as a preparatory- and professional orientation year for circus artistry and circus pedagogy in Neuenburg am Rhein with Cirque Intense.
