Encounter Iced Sound – Klanginstallation & Performances Schiffbauplatz

At the center of the installation are sounds that Ramon Landolt recorded in the Alps between 2019 and 2022 while listening to and interacting with glacier caves and seracs, crevasses and glacial lakes. Alongside these recordings, he invited various artists to engage with the melting sounds of the glacier by interpreting compositions on location that were written specifically for the glaciers. "Encounter Iced Sound" is about making the natural and climate crisis-induced changes to these landscapes audible in public space. The project explores in a poetic and subjective way the impact of this transformation on the environment and its creatures.

The installation will be open to the public from February 16, 2023 through March 6, 2023. Special events will also take place on the following dates:
