AI AS A CONVERSATION PARTNER IN PSYCHOTHERAPY AND SPIRITUAL CARE

It doesn’t judge, never tires, and responds just as patiently at three in the morning as it does in broad daylight. For an ever-increasing number of people, artificial intelligence is becoming the first port of call for emotional distress and existential questions. But what does this development mean for psychotherapy and pastoral care? What happens when human vulnerability meets an algorithm? Who bears responsibility if a chatbot responds incorrectly or inappropriately? Or does it actually open up access to support for precisely those people who would otherwise not seek help?

Following two brief presentations, our guests will engage in discussion with one another and with the audience.
