In 2010, Michael Wigge travelled from Berlin to Antarctica without any money.
Michael Wigge is a reporter, filmmaker and author. His work combines journalism with entertainment
and explores cultural topics in an engaging and humorous way. He has received numerous awards for his projects.
In 2010, Wigge embarked on his most spectacular adventure: in 150 days, he travelled from Berlin to Antarctica without a penny to his name. On his 35,000-kilometre journey across four continents, he lived solely on the kindness of strangers, asked for food in shops, stayed with strangers or worked for room and board along the way.
The series *Without Money to the End of the World*, which has been broadcast on television several times, tells a survival story that is as thrilling as it is moving – narrated with humour yet grounded in documentary fact. The project was nominated for the Grimme Prize and was also successfully published as a book. Today, Michael Wigge lives in Berlin and Hawaii.
