Dance tips in October

From a dance exploration of mental health to creating a landscape with one's own body.

Thinking about thinking

In Reflection two performers and a musician bring the entanglements and aberrations that come with thinking about thinking onto the stage. In this maze, they become entangled in the questions and hardships that arise when reflecting on their reality. With humour and sensitivity, the artists devote themselves to a subject that most people know.

Perception(s)

In her first full-length piece, Sarafina Beck deals with herself - specifically with her mental illness. The choreographer expresses her own perceptual disorder and her everyday confrontation with it in dance. TELE(YOUR)VISION is an interdisciplinary solo dance theatre and shows the conditions and situations that trigger the perceptual disorders. Beck focuses on the experience and empathy of the emotions of those affected and thus creates an important space and visibility for mental illness.

Moving art history

Sasha Amaya's trilogy deals with the reuse of European art history in contemporary art. In the third part, the artist focuses on the image of Western European male beauty. She explores how certain types of male-read bodies have been and still are seen and evaluated. In Sharing, this performative potential of de- and reconstruction is tested on stage, an exciting mixture of art history and movement.

Impulses

Movement-Practice explores how people together create a space with their bodies. Participants create different landscapes with their movements and can give free rein to their impulses. The aim is to let the usual movement sequences run out and to perceive gravity, tension, space, impulses, sounds and bring them into a context. The movements are guided verbally and are intended to help them get into a flow of intention-free space-movement design.
