Live music in summer

From lake and "Badi" stages, from indoor sweating that you can't get around in the musical summer, and from the musical highlights in July and August.

Jazzhane Festival

The makers of the Psychedelic Music Explosion have come up with a festival! It's called Jazzhane, Turkish for Jazz House. Fortunately, the Jazzhane Festival does not take place indoors, but by the lake on the grounds of the Rote Fabrik. After instrument and music production workshops, the German-Syrian neo-electronica duo Shkoon, the Kurdish rock band Bajar and the Basel neo-oriental-progressive band Saitün will perform, before the festival continues with DJs from the entire eastern sphere of the musical globe.

odd Beholder & Long Tall Jefferson

Daniela Weinmann and Simon Borer are better known as Odd Beholder and Long Tall Jefferson and thus as two of the absolute pearls of Swiss indie pop. So it's all the nicer that they are now teaming up to perform one or two summery, dreamy songs at the Barfussbar.

Minami Deutsch

"German" in this band's name refers to the Krautrock era of the good old FRG. The members of this band come from Japan and are at home on the label GuruGuruBrain, which was founded by members of the Japanese export hit Kikagaku Moyo. Got it? Then off to the hypnotic guitar bath in hypnotically small Helsinki!

Mel D & Pina Palau

As part of the Zurich "Stadtsommer", Zurich artists can be discovered for free and outdoors throughout the summer. This year, the programme at the Rote Fabrik will open with the two bedroom pop singer/songwriters Pina Palau and Mel D. It's going to be cozy!

Lethargy Festival

And once again a festival in the Rote Fabrik: Where there's the Street Parade, there's of course the Lethargy Festival. There is a lot to discover this year as well: the sitar-beat combination Ashraf Sharif Khan & Viktor Marek, for example, the avant-garde afrobeat duo OY or the soundscape orchestra Omni Selassi. And DJ Hell will also be spinning.

Ascendant Vierge

It was inevitable that trance would have its revival at some point. It's a good thing that groups like Ascendant Vierge have taken on this task. The French-Belgian duo gives the idiosyncratic style the necessary twist of our 20s and builds their own crazy style universe around it. I wonder how the live show in Exil will turn out?

Allah-Las

You could call what the Allah-Las do retro rock. But that wouldn't sound nearly as cool and original as the Allah-Las actually are. The band quite rightly enjoys cult status and, while we're on the subject of cult and retro, will be performing at Mascotte.
