Dance tips in March

The inspiration for caner teker's Sharing is a quote from Sara Ahmed about the extent to which people can be killjoys. The work from the two-week residency at Tanzhaus Zürich will be shown in the work-in-progress sharing and may lead to a new work. The sharing will be followed by a short audience discussion. In Horizons, the young talents of Ballett Zürich present three new choreographies. Together with Shaked Heller, Samantha Lynch and Vittoria Girelli, the dancers of the Junior Ballet have developed their current choreographies. The pieces deal with the theme of belonging to a group, connectedness in the happiness of dancing and bodies as mouldable material.

"Freedom for the body!" is the motto for Yue Cao's Ecstatic Dance workshop. Yue will give a full-body warm-up to a mix of rave, trance and world music. If you want to dance together and work up a sweat, this dance workshop is just right for you.

Juliette Uzor uses Heinrich von Kleist's essay On the Marionette Theatre as the starting point for the dance performance ah ah ah. In the piece, she raises questions about gravity, (re)presentation and the orientation of today's bodies and explores the complex relationship between movement and language.
